Introduction

We’ve been continuously leaving you all breadcrumbs on the NFT gaming sector. In order for a game to be truly successful, the gameplay must take precedence over every other attribute. Being a gamer myself, I’m only interested in playing games that I enjoy. Play To Earn has been revolutionary and is now reaching mainstream audiences around the globe. However, Play To Earn will only be successful if the games are able to maintain the same fun factor as regular games.

Play to earn, move to earn, learn to earn, grind to earn, and any other “to earn” gamification mechanic will exist in many non-gaming entities. It will be a norm not a selling point. The biggest factor of a games success is still very simple. Is it fun or engaging to play?

The good news is that developers are quickly catching on and P2E gaming is constantly evolving. There are P2E games on the market that have managed to nail the fun aspect. Today, it is my goal to highlight a few of them.

Thetan Arena

• The first game that we will cover today is Thetan Arena. Thetan Arena is a team-based battle royale style, strategy game where players have the ability to form a team and battle others for tokens and rewards.

• The team behind Thetan Arena is WolfFun. They also made Heroes Strike (you should try this game if you have not already) which has over 5M downloads. So, the team is very experienced.

• Apart from the NFTs, Thetan does have the Thetan Token (THG) that will act as the in-game free to earn currency. They also have the Thetan Gems that players can use to stake and upgrade their NFTs.

• The Thetan Token has absolutely skyrocketed since its launch.

Spider Tank

• Spider Tank is the result of a collaboration between Gamedia Games and Gala Games. Spider Tank is a PVP brawler where players can customize their tanks and weapons, then battle each other in the Spider Tank arena.

• Gala Games has been on fire for the past few months. This is largely because of the hype around their highly anticipated Fantasy RPG game, Mirandus. However, it looks like they’ve found a treasure with Gamedia and Spider Tank.

• Gamedia Games is the primary developer of Spider Tank. They have created over 150 games, and the CEO has been in the industry since 1998.

• Spider Tank is both free to play and P2E. Players are able to purchase and trade different NFT skins, tanks, and weapons.

• Last month, Gala Games announced the closed beta for NFT owners. I have had a chance to test out the gameplay, and the fun factor is definitely there.

Conclusion

• I have no doubt that NFT gaming will continue taking the world by storm. One thing that all of these games have in common is that the teams are very experienced.

•  As long as gameplay continues to be the top priority of the NFT gaming studios, the bullishness around this sector will continue to grow. I hope to see more games at the forefront that makes fun a top priority.

• The main goal is to ultimately transition from Play To Earn to Play And Earn.
